Earlier this month, folks attending the Custombike Show in Germany got to feast their eyes on the first ever tattooed motorcycle. Fret not, you too can catch a glimpse of this beauty. Just scroll down and check out the photos in the gallery below.

It is understood that this downright gorgeous motorcycle, which goes by the name of The Recidivist, is the creation of Tomasz Lech and Krysztof Krolak, both tattoo artists from Poland. Mind you, the bike isn't just for show. On the contrary, it's fully functional.

How does one ink a motorcycle?

Admittedly, there are plenty of bikes in this world that sport more or less complex designs. The thing is that, more often than not, these designs are created with the help of various airbrushing techniques.

To create The Recidivist, Polish tattoo artists Tomasz Lech and Krzysztof, together with the bike enthusiasts who helped them complete this one-of-a-kind project, first covered the motorcycle's body in light-colored leather.

The artists explain that they settled on a type of leather closely resembling human skin, and that they used it to cover the motorcycle's wheels, seat, rear fender and tank. It was on this leather that they added to the bike that the artists inked their designs.

It is understood that, all in all, Tomasz Lech and Krzysztof Krolak spent some 250 hours just tattooing the leather. The artists admit that it was painstaking work but stress that, when all was said and done, it was obvious that the effort was well worth it.

This project was commissioned by a Polish company dubbed Game Over Cycles. What's interesting is that, apart from being the world's first inked motorcycle, The Recidivist includes construction elements that resemble various parts of tattoo machines.

“This is by far the most complicated bike we’ve constructed so far,” Polish company Game Over Cycles commented on this initiative in a statement, as cited by Oddity Central.

Mixed reactions to the bike's uncanny looks

Not at all surprisingly, it appears that, whereas some simply love and adore the Recidivist and its unique look, others don't think that Tomasz Lech and Krzysztof Krolak did well in adding leather to the two-wheeler and then inking it.

Then again, the artists don't seem to care all that much about the not-so-polite things some might have to say about their work. “Some people say it’s great, some don’t like it and others have even different opinions. I like that it arouses emotions,” said Stanislaw Myszkowski, the owner of Game Over Cycles.
