It rather predictably pairs an Intel high-end CPU with NVIDIA graphics

Micro-Star International has just made the rather odd claim that it has released the first 27-inch gaming all-in-one PC in the world. Since AiOs have been around for ages, we suspect the word “gaming” is very important, since gaming AiOs are actually rare.

The name of the new system is AG2712, a rather dry moniker really, on a market full of brands like Republic of Gamers, Monster, Titan, etc.

Nevertheless, the performance level cannot be denied, not when top-level hardware from Intel and NVIDIA is brought together.

The CPU is an Intel Core i7-3630QM, the type used in notebooks, with four cores and clock speed of 2.4 GHz (base) and 3.4 GHz (Turbo Boost).

The graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 M, with 3 GB of GDDR5 VRAM.

Backing them up are four SODIMM memory slots, allowing for up to 16 GB, depending on user choices.

As for storage, there are several ways it can go. By default, an HDD is present, with 1 TB capacity, but a 128 GB SSD can be used instead.

Or possibly alongside it, for both performance and space. Since this is supposed to be a gaming system, we don't have trouble seeing it happening.

Everything else is along the same lines: a multi-card reader, a DVD super multi optical drive, two 5W speakers (5.1 channel), Wi-Fi, a 2 megapixel webcam, and a whole bunch of ports: HDMI in, HDMI out, two USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, earphone, mic, VGA, Gigabit Ethernet.

The HDMI input, along with MSI's Instant Display Technology, lets the AiO behave as a Smart TV or even a means to display the feed from a PS3 or other game console.

Thus, the AG2712 can be considered a multi-platform engine for Full HD movies or playing the latest console games on a large screen.
