The famous World of Warcraft game developed by Blizzard Entertainment has been spotted on the Amazon website featuring Linux support.

World of Warcraft has been available on the Windows and Mac OS platforms for many years, and rumors about a Linux version have been around since the beginning.

The Linux rumors had died down a little, but now Amazon has listed World of Warcraft with support for “Windows Vista / 98 / 2000 / Me / XP / 95, Mac OS X Intel, Linux, Mac OS X, Mac OS 9 and below.”

There are two possibilities. The first one, which is also the most likely, is that this is just a mistake made by Amazon. The second possibility is that Amazon received some information about a Linux version and leaked it by mistake.

In any case, users shouldn’t get their hopes up, although it would be nice to see a game from Blizzard with Linux support.
