Blizzard: "no comment"

Having lots of clients can sometimes have negative effects, and Blizzard is facing such a situation with their World of Warcraft massive multiplayer game.

Apparently, the 5 million registered users have exceeded the capacity provided by the company's dedicated servers. A few months ago, Blizzard was bragging about the 5 million players record they registered after launching the game on Asian territory.

In terms of technical support, Blizzard's WoW has been pointed out by many specialists as the weakest offer on the online gaming market. Support requests sent to the tech staff do not always get solved as they should, and server downtimes stopped taking anyone by surprise, at times being unavailable for a whole day.

The reasons seem to come from insufficient funding for the equipment needed to keep the game running at acceptable parameters. It seems that the 150 million euros registered gamers send to Blizzard's pockets are not enough to solve these problems, which occur more and more often, with the continuous increase of clients.

Ahn'Qiraj, the latest WoW add-on, caused even more problems recently, when 27 servers "surrendered" to the game-hungry hordes. Blizzard's technicians needed 3 days to put them back on track, however, no official statement was made about the incident.
