A 27-year-old man needed to be shot in the head to end his rage fit

Swans may be some of the most graceful and beautiful birds on the planet. But something that Tchaikovsky and his Swan Lake never warned us about was just how vicious and brutal these creatures could be when they had had too much to drink and they were playing World of Warcraft. One such Swan, named James, was trying to get his "raid on" in Blizzard's MMORPG, but his domestic environment proved to hinder his attempt.

Living with his parents and his five siblings, at the proud age of 27, at 10 pm., the above-mentioned James Swan was asked by his mother to turn the volume down and be a little bit more quiet. When her pleas went unanswered, she approached the not-so-young man and once again asked him to stop making so much noise. Before continuing, we should remind everyone that the following incidents are most likely caused by his inebriated state, and less by his WoW gaming session.

This time around, James did answer his mother's request, but not in the way she hoped. He grabbed her by the hair and threw her on the bed, a fate that also fell upon his younger brother when he came to investigate the commotion. Recovering, the woman tried to call the police, but was met with technical difficulties. Frowning upon his mother's behavior, James ripped the phone from the wall and also destroyed any chance he might have had to plead insanity in court, by proving that he could still use his head, as he decided to ram it through the wall where the telephone once was.

The conflict only escalated from here, as he began to choke his mother, threatening to kill her. By the time his grandfather, who was also living in the house, came to see what was going on, James' mother was already losing consciousness. Trying to intervene, James threatened to kill his grandfather as well. With no option left that he could think of, the elderly man went to his room and picked up his gun. He returned where James was, and a struggle ensued for the firearm that eventually accidentally discharged and the fired bullet hit James Swan in the head.

Fortunately, if his head was strong enough to be rammed through a wall, it looks like it was also strong enough to withstand a bullet impact, as the projectile ricocheted from his head, grazing his left ear and then breaking a window. Later taken to the hospital, James refused treatment, but was not given a choice in the matter of his arrest, however.
