Blizzard has always made its games quite simple, in order to run on a wide variety of PCs, and it generally avoided creating visually stunning titles that would run on only the most expensive configurations, like Crysis or its sequel Crysis: Warhead. The developers always focused on the mainstream players, who don't really have a powerful rig in order to run their games, because this was always Blizzard's goal - to appeal to a wide audience, you need to make games that can run on a lot of machines.

Its upcoming expansion to the hit MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) World of Warcraft, entitled Wrath of the Lich King, has been announced for quite some time and is scheduled to hit the store shelves in DVD form on November 13. And with just a month away from that date, Blizzard has announced the technical specifications for a PC in order to run this new expansion pack. Although these are very decent, the game can also run on less equipped machines but the configurations found below are a benchmark for a quality gaming experience.

OS: Windows XP (Service Pack 3), Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) 

Processor: 
Minimum: Intel Pentium 4 1.3 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 1500+ 

Recommended: Dual-core processor, such as the Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2

Memory: 
Minimum: 512 MB RAM (1GB for Vista users) 

Recommended: 1 GB RAM (2 GB for Vista users)

Minimum: 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting with 32 MB VRAM
