Players can also turn off XP

Blizzard is getting ready to make some pretty sweeping changes in World of Warcraft in the coming Call of the Crusade patch. The company has already announced that it would introduce a new area called the Isle of Conquest, which is set to allow as many as 80 players to go head to head trying to capture the area for the Horde or for the Alliance.

The update has also been confirmed to introduce a new dungeon, named Crusader's Colliseum, a reduction in power for the Death Knights and new Druid forms.

Blizzard has announced that all players who engage in Player versus Player battles would gain experience from them, which they can use to level up characters. Experience will be offered for a variety of feats, like killing enemies, getting flags, winning instances and capturing objectives.

Cory Stockton, the lead content designer for World of Warcraft, said that “We want Battleground experience to be rewarding, but we also don't want it to be the fastest way for players to level up.”

Players can make sure that they still have the characters to take part in low level battlegrounds by actually turning off the experience gain in the MMO. Using this option will actually turn off experience gain from all sources, including Player versus Environment battles. To turn off experience gain players will need to talk to an NPC and pay him 10 gold. The same fee is required to get experience again.

Patch 3.2 has been worked on for quite some time by Blizzard and the release will probably take place in the initial weeks of July. The developer needs to make sure that it puts out a steady stream of new content for World of Warcraft so that the 11 million people who have subscribed to the MMO are content.
