Blizzard has just revealed a few more details about the global launch events it will be holding for its upcoming expansion, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, including ones from the USA and the UK.

World of Warcraft is the most popular massively multiplayer online role playing game in the world, with over 12 million paying subscribers.

That number will no doubt increase, as Blizzard is gearing up to release the third expansion for the game, entitled Cataclysm, on December 7.

"After two years of development, we're excited to now be just two weeks away from releasing our best World of Warcraft expansion yet," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment.

"Cataclysm will add a huge amount of new content to the game and change the face of Azeroth forever, and we can't wait to celebrate this launch with players around the world."

As you can imagine, the company is working together with retails from around the world to hold launch events for the major release.

"Starting on the night of the 6th of December, key retail partners in the UK, US, Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, the Netherlands and the region of Taiwan will welcome gamers who want to be among the first to purchase and play Cataclysm."

In the USA, the main launch even will be held at Fry's Electronics in Fountain Valley, California, where different activities will be held, including dance contests, developer meet-ups and "an exclusive live performance by The Artist Formerly Known As Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain, Blizzard's in-house and in-game band."

In the UK, the main launch will be in partnership with retailer GAME at Sound, in London, which will hold costume contests and other activities for WoW gamers until midnight, when the Cataclysm expansion will be officially up for sale.

In case you can't reach these two locations, Blizzard set up a special section on their website, where people can check out global launch events depending on region or country, and get details about what activities will be held.
