14 DAY TRIAL // Wargaming announces that it has acquired a studio called Day 1 Studios, which will be used in order to create a yet unannounced video game project that targets home consoles.
So far, Wargaming has been focused on the PC, where it has become successful after the launch of World Of Tanks and World of Warplanes.
Victor Kislyi, the chief executive officer of Wargaming, stated when the announcement was made, “The move into console game development is a huge step for Wargaming, as we begin to expand our presence into new platforms. We are looking forward to sharing the fruits of our labor soon.”
The statement from Denny Thorley, the leader of Day 1 Studios, suggests that the new video game will also use the free-to-play business model.
It’s unclear whether the new game will be linked to the World of Tanks universe or whether the studio is using an entirely new universe.
