The independently-developed video game scene has seen quite a lot of big hits last year, with titles delivering great gameplay despite not being funded by major corporations like Activision Blizzard or Electronic Arts. Some of them, like
Braid or Castle Crashers, delivered a great arcade experience but, without a doubt,
World of Goo became a fan favorite.
The physics simulator won over gamers around the world with its funny story elements but made them really put their thinking hats on with the challenging levels in which they had to take the goo balls and build structures in order to lead them to the mysterious pipe. The Lemmings-like gameplay had a lot of interesting features and behaved like a top-notch physics simulator in which players had to take into account the weight of the structures and the particularities of each level.
Now it seems that, in the spirit of the
DRM-less game, the composer of the soundtrack, Kyle Gabler, has made all of the tracks available for download on his personal site. The 27 tracks come in a decent 85-megabyte archive and promise to make you play the fun game all over again. “I wrote much of this music specifically for the game, but many of the tracks were excerpts from music I had written previously for various small projects, or just for fun. This soundtrack includes the full versions of most of those songs, as best as I was able to recover them,” said the composer.
Here's the full tracklist of songs, which you can now download from the
official site.
