But it would be nice if you didn't do it

World of Goo was one of those games that proved just how successful a brain-tease could be. The game won at the Independent Games Festival a series of awards and received many other titles and praises from gaming critics. If you never got the chance to get your hands on the game, now is the best possible time. To celebrate the title's one-year anniversary, 2D Boy, the developer, has released a special offer on the game. The idea they've decide to approach is very strange and interesting at the same time. Even though the special event has been officially released, the game doesn't come with a set price tag.

2D Boy didn't forget to price it and didn’t make any other mistake that would lead to the same thing. The game is offered as an open-price product. This means you can pay for it exactly how much you want. You can order it from a lot of suppliers, but you'll only get this special offer if you purchase it through their site. The game is generally priced at $20 but if you deal with 2D Boy directly you can get it for anything from 1 cent to a million dollars.

This would be pretty hard to accomplish through a normal purchase method so 2D Boy used a donation form to make the transaction. You fill in the amount you think the game is worth, choose the method by which you'll pay and wait for the title to come to you. This offer is available for the PC, Mac and Linux and will end on October 19.

Whether you want to get the game at a lower price and see what it's about, previously bought it for another platform and don't want to spend $20 dollars for the same thing or you think the guys over at 2D Boy did a great job and you want to show your support with a larger transaction, this offer makes it all possible. World of Goo is a physics based puzzle-construction game that proved to be very well designed, challenging and very, very fun to play.
