Beta feedback

World War II strategy title R.U.S.E. has been pushed back to September by publisher Ubisoft with the official reason being the fact that it needs to see some improvements on its current state, most of them based on the feedback players offered during the multiplayer beta recently conducted through Steam. The publisher has not indicated an exact launch date for the title and has not said whether they are planning another beta stage to show off the way it has improved.

An announcement made on social network Facebook by Ubisoft reads, “While we understand how disappointing this news will be for many, rest assured that this is the best decision for R.U.S.E. and that this extra time will allow us to implement many of your suggestions and improve the multiplayer experience while polishing the overall game.”

The initial launch date for R.U.S.E. was June 4, a decent slot for a strategy title, which needs all the breathing room it can find in a world dominated by first person shooters. September might mean the game will get lost amongst other big releases and lose sales that it could have gotten during the summer.

The beta for R.U.S.E. showed off a pretty interesting concept where actual military power derived from units was balanced with the use of special powers that could misdirect the enemy in order to open them up for a decisive strike.

The games, especially in one on one, were fast and at times frantic, and apart from a few lockups, there were no game breaking bugs visible. Game balance is always something, which can be tweaked but there's a real possibility that the title, developed by Eugen Systems, even if its gets an overall coat of polish, will have a harder time in September than it would have had in June.
