E-TEN Informations Systems has announced the launch of its newest handheld device, the E-TEN X500 aka gloofish, together with its mobile market plans for the upcoming period. Following their high-performance and full featured Pocket PC phones policy, they have done a great job on the gloofish, a device that comes with all a business man on-the-go will ever need (all apart 3G connectivity, but as you're going to find out, its features make the 3G almost not needed).

The thing that you notice the first time you see the handset is the fact that it has one of the slimmest cases on the Pocket PC phone mobile market, a case that only measures 15.5 mm in thickness (I might be wrong but I guess this really is the thinnest of them all).

If you think that the most important features in a mobile device are the GPRS' so you can have access to the internet, e-mail and wireless services and the LAN connectivity, the X500 will be the one handset you are looking for because it has GPRS, and LAN connectivity through the Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b and g protocols, and goes even beyond your needs by offering you EDGE, GPS capability with the help of the SiRF Star III chip, Bluetooth 2.0, a 2 megapixel camera, a 2.8 inch QVGA display, a microSD memory expansion card slot and a multimedia player that lets you watch your video and photo content while on the go.

To add in even more quality into the device, its Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system runs on a 400 Mhz processor, with the help of 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM, offering the thing that most people consider a must-have: simultaneous access to multiple applications and features.

The E-TEN X500 gloofish has a November 5th 2006 announced release date but no price attached with that yet.
