This couple could spend their honey moon in a match box. Chen Guilan, the bride, is 0.7 m (2.3 ft) tall, while the groom, Li Tangyong, is 1.1 m (3.6 ft) tall. The bride has posed in her wedding dress for their wedding photo in Shunde, Guangdong Province (southeastern China) on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007.

The couple got married during the National Day (1 October) holiday and had already applied for the "shortest couple to get married" in the Guinness World Records' Guangdong office, soon after finishing the pre-marriage health check. The marriage took place in a group wedding ceremony, both in traditional and modern styles, gathering 30 other couples and the newly-weds hope to get the record's certificate by then.

Li Tangyong works on the Goteburg boat, belonging to the Changlu farm in the Shunde district, and his dwarfism is congenital (hereditary). His love story with Chen started three years ago, but her parents were not very happy with the relationship, as researchers don't recommend marriages in such cases.

The record for the world's shortest man is held by anohter Chinese: 19-year-old He Pingping, of just 73 centimeters (2.4 feet). He is a native of Huade county, Wulanchabu city, Inner Mongolia (northeastern China). "At birth, he was only the size of an adult's palm.", said his father, He Yun.

He Pingping has two married sisters of normal height. The man has a bone condition named Osteogenesis Imperfecta which impedes the normal growth of bone and bodily height.

The title for the world's tallest man belonged to a Chinese till August 2007: Bao Xishun, 56, also named Xi Shun or "The Mast", a 7-foot-9 herdsman (2.36 m) from Inner Mongolia. Bao did not suffer from any growth disorder such as gigantism; he reached his height in a seven-year growth spurt that began when he was 16.
