At this year's CEBIT, taking place this week, visitors will get to see the world's first universal mobile phone charger. There are several projects of this type but it looks like this is the first to be officially presented.

The charger was designed by the nearly 80-year-old legend in the field of industrial design, professor Luigi Colani and is dubbed the 'Anyfix'.

What's special about this charger is that it can be used on over 80 percent of the mobile phones that are currently being sold in Europe and recharges all major brand products.

The Anyfix can be plugged into the electrical outlet and the choice of suitable connector is only a matter of pressing a button. According to its creator, the AnyFix's design is bio-design in its purest phone, with the main body as well as its dynamic arms being developed with nature in mind, and not the latest trends or any sales tactics.

It 'borrows' the outline and shape of one of the fastest swimmers in the world, a bettle known as the Dytiskus Marginalis, that is approximately 3.5cm long and can move under water at up to 4 meters per second because of its unique body shape. By simply looking at the photo, it's clear how out of the ordinary the design is, and even though it wasn't designed according to the latest trends, it will probably manage to be stylish as well.

Many companies and people are focusing on producing and commercializing such a charger. Professor Colani, the first to actually offer such a device, is known for his ground-breaking world records in airplane and vehicle construction as well as designs that were decades ahead of their time and helped the shaping of entire industrial eras.
