Pray for sunny days

Orange has just released the "world's first" solar-powered Bluetooth headset, the Iqua BHS-603 SUN. This should surely win them some good points in the race of being recognized as a "green" company.

The Sun sounds like a perfect power source for a headset. After all, the device is worn around the user's ear at all times and a shortly cut hairdo could make wonders for the device's life length. Orange recently posted on its website the Iqua BHS-603 SUN headset in the "coming soon" section, along with some details on what this device can do and now finally has the product in stock.

Basically, the solar-powered headset is pretty much like any other regular one, although this one looks to appeal to users by means of a more innovatory approach to charging solutions. Iqua BHS-603 SUN comes with an energy efficient design, meant to capture as much sunlight as possible. Moreover, it brings the great advantage of virtually never running out of battery, if constantly used and not kept in a back drawer.

Interestingly enough, it has no ear hook, in order to comfortably attach to the user's ear. Still, its weight of 14 grams is not smallest when compared to that of similar devices. The headset can stand up to 200 hours standby time and 9 hours talk time in complete darkness. Still, when worn outdoors, it automatically charges, which means that the user will no longer have to worry about plugging it for this.

The Iqua BHS-603 SUN headset is compatible with a range of devices, including mobile phones, PDAs and personal computers with a Bluetooth PC adapter. The device will come for 50 pounds, a price higher than that of most other regular headsets, but this comes from the "green" factor and the great advantage of never having to worry about running out of battery.
