How far can you go?

Yesterday we talked about how good is the new MacBook that houses the new Core 2 Duo processors from Intel under the hood, but there's one thing I forgot to mention back then, and - as far as I was able to notice - the guys from PC Magazine missed it too. I don't know about them, but I feel blind sometimes, and that happens especially when I have my eyes closed... Anyway, as long as one person can distinguish one color from another, that person should have a favorite color. When you have a favorite color or even more, you want to buy clothes, shoes, cars, planes and all the rest in that color, or a combination of colors. Why not being able to buy a MacBook the way you want it?

One of these days I was thinking how nice it would be to have a black iMac, because despite the fact that my favorite color seems to be blue, when it's about computers, I like everything that comes in black - sound systems, cases, monitors, keyboards and all the rest. Of course that not everyone likes having just the colors offered by Apple for its MacBook, and paying 450$ to Colorware to change the color of your 1500$ MacBook, doesn't sound like a really good idea either.

When something is too expensive to buy, some courageous people go to the "do it yourself" way, and the same happened this time. A MacBook owner that goes under the blogger name "rogotoko" did it himself, and the results are quite impressive, as you can see in the picture. After painting a MacBook for a friend, this guy wanted to change its laptop's looks without voiding the warranty, so he came across something called "Carbon Graphix", a vinyl sticker material looking like real carbon fiber and is quite durable too. The rest of it is obvious, and the result is really good, for 20$ and a little work!
