A few days back, one worker in China happened to stumble upon an earthworm the size on a snake, which apparently was having the time of its life splashing around in a house gutter.

In plain numbers: this earthworm measures well over 19 inches in length (roughly half a meter).

Apparently, some earthworm species have no troubles growing to quite impressive body sizes, provided that the environmental conditions in which they are forced to live suit their needs.

Sources say that Li Zhiwei, the person who found this worm, intends to keep it as a pet and raise it in his backyard, just to see whether or not it will continue to grow.

Still, biologists are expected to soon pay him a visit, seeing how they wish to inspect the worm and try to figure out exactly what needs be held responsible for its growing spree.
