When opting for one type of exercise to lose weight or simply to stay in the best shape possible, the wide range of choices can act as a derailer. Looking to have the best results, preferably in the shortest time possible, we often start doing more than we can handle in the long run. This is why Anna Faris has found her favorite workout and plans to stick to it.

Hiking is great for those who don’t like intense workouts but still want great results. Of course, it depends entirely on weather conditions but, granted we stick to it, it can guarantee we get enough exercise to stay in perfect shape. Anna Faris, star of the “Scary Movie” franchise, has recently discovered all this – plus the advantage of always being able to socialize while working out, which only makes hiking all that much more fun.

“I really like to hike. I love the idea that it invites so much conversation with the people that you’re with [and] you end up having great talks.” the actress says in the latest issue of People magazine. “Before you realize that you’ve worked out hard, you’ve also had a great moment with your friends or whomever you’re with!” she adds. As fans must know, Faris is in great shape, and she credits hiking with the way her body looks right now, as well as with how great she feels.

Of course, Faris is not the only one to discover the advantages of hiking. While countless other celebrities do it as well, some with dogs, others with their significant other, singer Emma Bunton recently revealed that she too lost the baby weight partly because of this pleasant workout. Although she also goes to the gym, the British star was saying not long ago that one of her favorite activities remains taking long walks with her baby.

Nevertheless, given the fact that Emma has always been more plump, she also has to hit the gym on a regular basis to make sure the weight stays off. “I put on a normal amount of weight when I was pregnant with Beau but it took me a year to get back to the weight I’d been before he was born. I did it very naturally and slowly. I went to the gym two or three times a week and ate healthily.” Bunton was saying back in January this year.
