14 DAY TRIAL // Owners of Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices can now enjoy a new mobile game on their handsets, in the form of Words With Friends.
The popular title for Windows 8 has been rewritten specifically for the mobile operating system and is now up for grabs with all the features and capabilities that users love about it included in the package.
This is one of the most well-known word games out there, with a nice range of enhancements inside, aimed specifically at mobile devices, as well as with additional social networking capabilities.
According to Microsoft, millions of users are currently enjoying the capabilities of Words With Friends, which allows them to easily get together with people close to them and engage into playing the game across platforms.
Moreover, the title comes with leaderboards, which allows users to easily track their progress against that of their friends. Moreover, it sports an improved SmartMatch, so that they can easily find better opponents.
The best part of this game, however, is the fact that it is backward compatible, which means that users will have their progress brought along on their Windows Phone handsets.
“If you’ve played Words With Friends before, all your games, opponents, and stats will carry over to Words With Friends without you missing a beat,” Microsoft writes in the application’s description.
One thing that should be noted right from the start, however, is the fact that the application will require users to sign in either with a Facebook account, or with a Games with Friends one.
“Use of this application requires a Facebook or Games with Friends account and is governed by the Zynga Terms of Service,” Microsoft explains.
“Collection and use of personal data are subject to Zynga’s Privacy Policy. Both policies are available in the Application License statement below as well as at www.zynga.com. Social Networking Service terms may also apply.”
As mentioned above, the game has been rebuilt from the ground up for the Windows Phone platform. However, Microsoft does specify that the game is currently compatible only with devices running under Windows Phone 8 or up.
Those of you who will download and install it are encouraged to offer feedback on their experience, so that improvements could be made to it. At the moment, the new title is available as version 1.0.0.0.
