WordPress 3.2 Beta 2 is available for testing now. Two weeks after the first beta release, the new build includes all of the fixes introduced in the meantime. More planned features are nearing completion, but it's still testing software and not a suitable replacement for the current and stable WordPress 3.1.

"If you’re a plugin developer, a theme developer, or a site administrator, you should be running this on your test environments and reporting any bugs you find," WordPress wrote.

"If you’re a WordPress user who wants to open your presents early, take advantage of WordPress’ famous 5-minute install and spin up a secondary test site," it added.

Compared to the first beta, WordPress 3.2 Beta 2 comes with several updated features. Google Chrome Frame is now supported, enabling those stuck with Internet Explorer 6, which is being deprecated in the admin dashboard, to continue to use the blogging software.

The dashboard has also been update to make it look better in IE7. Another dashboard update, the blue theme is now on par with the grey one so you can test this as well. The blue theme hadn't been updated yet in the first beta.

Finally, jQuerry 1.6.1 is now included, so if you use any JavaScript that depends on jQuery, now is the time to see if it still works.

WordPress 3.2 comes with several enhancements. A lot of work has been done optimizing the software, so things should be faster all around. The admin dashboard is getting a small revamp, the layout has been tweaked and some items have been introduced.

A new default theme is also coming, dubbed Twenty Eleven, but the main attraction is the new full screen editor which is designed to enable bloggers to write with as little distractions as possible.

"The plan is to start putting out release candidates in early June, and to release WordPress 3.2 by the end of the month. The more you help us iron out issues during the beta period, the more likely we are to hit those dates," WordPress explained.
