Woody Allen, the famous Hollywood director, came face to face with a statue of himself while walking through the streets of Oviedo in Spain.
He has been touring Europe with his New Orleans Jazz Band, and he visited the bronze statue of himself with his wife Soon-Yi and daughters Bechet and Manzie Tio.
Apparently, the statue was built in the director's honor in 2003.
After seeing the monument, Woody declared:
I did notice however that on my statue my glasses were broken. I don't know if that was because someone was excited and pulled them off ... or someone was angry with me and broke the glasses off, I don't know
But I'm sure the Mayor and the Chamber of Commerce will fix my glasses for the next time that I come.Oviedo is the capital of the Principality of Asturias and is the administrative and commercial centre of the region.
The city hosts the annual Prince of Asturias Awards, held in the Campoamor Theatre. The Oviedo University's International Campus also attracts many foreign scholars.
