Looks nice but, do we actually need this?

Here's one more audio gadget that looks cute but also comes with a painfully useless existence: a wood-style ladybug-shape sound system. He-he, sounds dumb and meaningless, doesn't it? Well, not only does it sound, but it also is, because seeing some guy pay $14 for it and actually put it a serious use would definitely be a must-see.

The ladybug mini-PA comes in a round box and sports a wood veneer finish that has really fooled me at the first sight. The box will look more like a ladybug when you'll be opening its flaps. Nevertheless, if you don't feel like "flying" (provided you are that stubborn and will actually use these speakers) you can use the ladybug in the "landed" position, as its wings sport perforations that will let sound pass through.

This mini-PA runs on USB power when uselessly taking up space from your desktop, but just in case you want to annoy some work mate you can have it running on AAA batteries and make it portable; its small dimensions and lightweight overall construction render it just perfect for such mobile daring adventures.

The ladybug also sports a mini jack input that will easily connect it with your MP3 player... can you imagine listening to some very brutal death metal tracks using this cute and cozy looking ladybug speakers? I can and it causes quite some smiles among some work colleagues...

Behind the wings one can access what the sellers call "the menu"; now, don't expect a touchscreen or something like that. The "menu" actually means a power on button, assisted by a red LED, volume up/down keys and another elongated button whose role I can't really fathom right now. The online marketer also claims that the ladybug works as an alarm clock; well, I haven't been able to find out any clock display, analog or digital so I guess the ladybug just has a mind of its own and will wake you when it will believe it's the right time...

If you feel like spending 14 bucks on such speakers, click here and place an order. I will, too. NOT!

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there.
