CW president admits they’re no longer working on it, breaks many hearts

Wonder Woman can’t catch a break: though she will finally be making her big screen debut in Zack Snyder’s much-hyped “Man of Steel” sequel “Batman vs. Superman,” her television “career” has been put on hold once more, again indefinitely.

In late 2012, rumors started making the rounds that CW was working on a Wonder Woman series, called “Amazon,” that would be the Wonder Woman equivalent of “Smallvile” to the Superman universe.

The rumor was confirmed by the network in spring last year, and fans could finally rejoice at the idea that at least someone was still working on this, after at least a couple of similar projects failed before they even took off.

CW is confirming for THR now that “Amazon” is no longer in the works, at least not for the time being. This comes despite the fact that, in May 2013, a script was being redeveloped.

“We did not go forward with it,” CW President Mark Pedowitz said.

“It all depends on the script. We were very careful with Arrow, and we're being very careful with Flash. These are iconic characters, so we're going to be very careful with Wonder Woman. You only get one shot before you get bit,” he adds.

So that leaves Wonder Woman fans with just her role in “Man of Steel 2,” and Gal Gadot’s portrayal of the Amazonian princess. Seeing how Gadot has already been deemed by many a fan the most unsuitable actress for the role, that really doesn’t amount to much, does it?
