Breast cancer is real, as millions of women from around the world who have already fought it can attest. In a bid to raise awareness on the issue of prevention, here is a new series of ads with comic book heroines.

Various breast cancer campaigns stress the importance of the monthly self-exam women must give themselves to feel for lumps or other abnormalities in the breast.

The latest is no different in this respect, only that, instead of using real women, it turns for help to comic book world-famous heroines.

Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Storm from X-Men and She-Hulk may have superpowers but their generous bosoms could also hide cancer, so they too perform the regular check-ups, as shown in the ads designed by Maisa Chaves for the ALCC Associacao da Luta Contra o Cancer.

“When we talk about breast cancer, there's no women or superwomen. Everybody has to do the self-examination monthly. Fight with us against the enemy and, when in doubt, talk with your doctor,” the ads read.

Below are the new images that are already in circulation in Mozambique. A superhero(ine)'s work is never truly over.
