Women Prefer Cuddling to Sex

Men prefer it less

Porn movies depict women as sex thirsty beasts.

But a new Australian survey made on about 5,000 adults found another reality: they are rather addicted to intimacy. Over 80 % of interviewed women would choose regular intimate moments instead of sex.

Surprisingly, even if men were less inclined to prefer this, with only 56 % of them regarding sex as second best, their number is still high.

Overall, the survey points that

just about 70 % of the Australians claim to be satisfied with their current level of intimacy. "The nationwide K-Y Touch Intimacy Poll highlights the need for more personal attention between partners. While 61 % of adult Australians are having sex once a week, other elements of a loving relationship are also important," said Anne Hollonds from Relationships Australia.

"Trust and intimacy were crucial to a successful relationship, elements which are built through personal bonding and touch. We encourage Australians to go back to relationship basics, relish in candlelight dinners, conversation and physical activities like massage. People don't realize how little investment is required to keep their relationship on the right path," said Hollonds.

The research revealed as the first three favorite intimate activities of the Australians were touch, massage and spending a weekend away. Roughly 75 % of the subjects had intimacy on their mind at least once daily, but only one in three people actually received it. Over 35 % of the respondents complained that foreplay was too short and a similar percentage declared they would prefer more "spontaneous" intimate moments.

Another barrier in front of the couple intimacy resulted to be the children, as childless couples reported almost twice more sex intercourse than couples with children did. Tiredness, busy work and "no time" also hampered the sex life of the subjects, and almost 15 % of them declared they had no sex life at all.
