Women in the state of Assam in northeastern India took matters into their own hands when they suspected a politician of abusing a young woman in her own home, where he was a guest.

The man in question is Bikram Singh Brahma, a member of the Congress Party and president of a district Congress committee in the state of Assam.
He was spending the night with a couple and assaulted the wife in the dead of night. After the husband complained the politician had raped his wife, he was dragged into the street, where local women tore off his clothes and beat him.
Several men can also be seen joining them.
The politician is now under investigation for alleged rape.
