14 DAY TRIAL // For the past two months, Sheyla Hershey of Texas has been battling a very severe infection. Convinced that her implants actually put her life in danger, Hershey has finally decided to have them removed.
The 29-year-old mother of two had to go to her native Brazil to have the surgery done that would make her the woman with the biggest implants in the world.
To get to the size she was until not long ago, Hershey actually had to have implants for two breasts put in on each side – a thing she was awfully proud until she got the persistent infection.
Doctors have finally convinced her that the infection is not just going to go away by itself and she has consented to have the huge implants removed, the Orange County Register’s In Your Face section reports.
“Battling infection that threatened to enter her blood Steam and kill her, the Texas woman with the world’s largest breast implants finally agreed to have them removed, at least for now,” IYF writes.
“After breast implant surgery in Brazil in June, she developed severe, persistent staph and strep infections, doctors told Fox TV in Houston,” the e-zine further notes.
“The infection has remained active, doctors said, although Hershey is taking three types of antibiotics and one anti-fungal drug, underwent two operations to remove the infection, and was attached a pump designed to suck out the infection.”
In her own words, these past couple of months have been a living hell for her, as she was barely able to get out of bed and was running a high fever at all times.
In other words, the implants had come to put her life in danger – which is when she realized no addiction to size (such as hers was) was worth her life and the time she could still spend with her family.
Hershey is downsizing, saying she actually wants to go for a size that a regular housewife might have. However, she has to wait until she makes a full recovery to even think about new surgery.
“Right now, I don’t have any skin left to close the hole I have there in my breast,” she says. “I just want a normal size like a housewife has.”
