Just a few days ago, a young woman living in the town of Torrington in Devon, UK, delivered a perfectly healthy baby. She had no idea that she was pregnant and she delivered her child in the bathroom of her own home, while sitting on the toilet.

Kirsty Parker's mother was with her at the time the baby was born and was quite shocked by the occurrence. The child, a girl named Ruby, was taken to a local hospital shortly after delivery. Although in good health, she will be kept under observation for a few more weeks.

This is because she was born prematurely and doctors want to make sure that everything is, in fact, all right with her before they allow her parents to take her home with them. Needless to say, 25-year-old Kirsty Parker cannot wait to be reunited with her child.

The woman didn't experience any pregnancy symptoms

The young mother says that, although Ruby is her fifth child, she failed to notice that she was carrying her in her womb until the time came to deliver her. Thus, she insists that she did not experience any of the symptoms commonly associated with pregnancy.

True, she did gain some weight and felt moody, but since she was on the pill, she simply assumed that there was no way that she could be pregnant. More so since her fourth child was born merely nine months prior to baby Ruby's arrival.

In an interview, the 25-year-old mother explained that both she and her partner, 34-year-old Lee Wren, assumed that the extra weight Kirsty Parker carried around these past few months was the one she gained during her last pregnancy and that she was having trouble shaking it off.

The 25-year-old delivered Ruby in just a few minutes

Kirsty Parker says that, on the day Ruby was born, she felt something was off and went to the bathroom. She sat on the toilet and, much to her surprise, realized that she was giving birth to her fifth child. Before she had a chance to ask for help, her daughter was born.

“One minute I was fine, the next minute I had given birth to a baby down the toilet,” the 25-year-old told the press in an interview, as cited by Opposing Views. “I had been taking the pill every day and had no idea she was there until she was in the toilet,” she went on to add.

The woman says that three of Ruby's siblings were also born in the bathroom. On these other occasions, Kirsty Parker knew that she was pregnant but failed to realize that she was in labor until it was too late for her family to take her to hospital so that doctors could help her deliver.
