PETA members and supporters are not ones to give up easily, at least not when it comes to trying to convert people to veganism. What's more, they are terribly imaginative when they organize protests.

Not to beat about the bush, the organization is happy to announce that, before this year's EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival, one of their supporters managed to turn some heads and raise awareness about why eating animals is so wrong.

Granted, the woman had to wear nothing but barbecue sauce and lie on the ground accompanied by salad leaves to get people's attention, but she did get the job done. Thus, PETA says that, thanks to this protests, it managed to distribute several vegan starter kits.

“Many people stood for a long time, contemplating the image, and many gladly took vegan starter kits home with them. The response was so positive that our demonstrators didn’t want to have to pack up and leave,” the organization writes.

In case anyone was wondering, the woman poured barbecue sauce on her body and lay on the ground as if on a plate in an attempt to draw people's attention to the fact that the animals we kill for food are not all that different to us, and feel love, joy, and fear.

Photos taken during this latest PETA protest are available on the organization's website.
