She was eventually arrested, will likely be charged with animal cruelty

A woman from Warsaw, Poland risks spending up to two years behind bars if found guilty of animal cruelty. Judging by the things she's done, I would be terribly surprised if this did not happen.

Daily Mail reports that when local police officers in Warsaw raided the woman's home after neighbors had filed several complains, they found a total of 72 cats all of which were malnourished and living in awful conditions.

The bodies of about 100 animals, both dogs and cats, were also found in freezers inside the woman's home. Some of them were mutilated in ways that would make even Hannibal Lecter get a bit anxious.

As it turns out, the woman, who I'm guessing was a tad mentally unstable, was trying to create a new breed of animal, the Frankenstein way. Not to beat about the bush, she was trying to build herself a pet by putting together body parts taken from different animals.

“She was banned from keeping dogs, she had become obsessed with creating a new breed of dog and when that became no longer possible she switched to experimenting with cats,” a spokesperson for the local police told the press.

“There has obviously been some sort of sick experiments going on but until we get the autopsy is back on the bodies and have looked at the injuries to the life cats we won't know more about exactly what she was doing here,” he added.

The investigation is still ongoing. If police officers confirm that the woman was carrying out experiments on animals, she will be charged with animal cruelty and locked away for a considerable amount of time.
