For most women, being able to afford a visit to a celebrity hairstylist is the closest thing to a dream come true. For actress Carly Steele though, it was anything but a royal treat, as her head caught fire and she was left with burns and scarring after seeing celebrity hairstylist Kim Vo for a regular coloring back in January, court papers filed yesterday reveal as per TMZ.

The celebrity gossip website / paparazzi agency says that Steele went to Vo’s salon to color her hair, but ended up with severe injuries after it caught fire under the tin foil covering it. What’s even worse, the actress claims in court papers, is that neither she nor the other clients present when this went down were able to remove the foil, which caused her even more excruciating pain.

“Things were going fine until Carly claims the aluminum foil Kim personally applied and set under a hair dryer began burning her, causing her hair and scalp ‘to smoke and burn.’ In the suit, Steele claims, ‘she leapt from the chair’ and people tried to remove the foil – but, ‘they too were unable to remove the scalding and fiery foil and coloring agent which were scorching and sizzling into [Carly’s] hair, scalp and head.’ Steel claims she suffered ‘severe, debilitating and gruesome injuries’ and is suing for an undetermined amount for her health care costs, plus other damages.” TMZ adds, based on court papers filed in the L.A. County Superior Court yesterday.

Even if Steele is exaggerating the facts – which is known to have happened countless times before in such celebrity lawsuits – that does not change the fact that an accident like this occurred (or might have occurred) in one of the most popular hair salons in Hollywood. Kim Vo, a self-proclaimed coloring guru, has also starred in television shows the likes of “Extreme Makeover” and “Shear Genius,” and is known for working with some of the most mediated female stars in showbiz.

Vo’s clients include Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and Goldie Hawn and, coincidentally, the place where Steele’s accident took place is the same salon where these three also get their hair done.
