A woman from Illinois has made plans to celebrate her 100th birthday on a bike, on Saturday. Laverne Chance of Metamora has always been a motorcycle enthusiast and she wants to have that thrill once more.

She will actually be 100 on Friday, but it takes time to get those 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren all under one roof.

According to autoevolution, Laverne will be participating in the "Memorial Run 2013," in which 100 bikers will be riding. The event is organized by American Legion Riders.

Laverne last rode a bike when she was 90 years old but her son, JR Chance, has inherited her passion for them.

He will be lending her his Honda Shadow for the occasion, and he will be there to watch over her.
