Stephanie Walker was so surprised by her fiancé’s proposal that she almost saw her tragic end while attempting to say “Yes.” Anthony Taylor thought that popping the question while scuba-diving was the most romantic way to show his intents, but he didn't take into account the fact that his fiancée may be a bit too surprised.

The couple, on holiday in a Turkish resort, thought scuba-diving was a once-in-a-lifetime chance and went 40 feet (12 meters) below the surface of the water with a professional instructor. Luckily for them, the scuba-diving professional helping Anthony with his extreme proposal also helped save Ms. Walker's life.

When the young woman saw the laminated card with the question, she gasped and filled her mask with water. But she managed to overcome the issue and accept her fiancé’s beautiful diamond ring while flashing her own card with the positive answer.

The couple submitted their extreme proposal video to a contest rewarding some of the world's best “Will you marry me?” stories and Stephanie won her dream wedding dress. The event happened last year and the video was just recently made public. Now, the couple is planning to get married in September 2015.
