Earlier this year, a woman named Crispi used bacon to set her ex-boyfriend's house on fire. As decided by a judge this past Wednesday, she is to be trialled on several charges, among which arson and burglary.

Information shared with the public says that the incident that landed 32-year-old Cameo Adawn Crispi in trouble with the law happened back on March 14, in Uintah County in Utah, US.

According to the police officers in charge of seeing this case through, the entire affair started with the woman calling and sending text message to her former boyfriend from inside his house, while he was out of town.

After trying to deal with the situation himself, the woman's ex-boyfriend eventually decided to alert authorities. In a nutshell, he called the police and told them that he was being harassed.

Following this call, officers decided to visit the man's house and see what all the fuss was about. When they got there, they found Crispi, who was noticeably inebriated. Thus, her blood-alcohol content was four times the legal limit in Utah.

What's more, they noticed smoke coming out of the house. After entering the man's home, the officers discovered that the smoke was coming from some bacon that the woman had placed over a lit burner in an attempt to start a fire.

“I asked to come in and observed a wood stove left open with a fire burning inside and hot coals on the floor around the stove," the first officer to reach the house wrote in a report. “I observed the burner to be on the setting ‘High’ and the bacon to be severely burned and smoking badly,” he added.

According to Deseret News, officers managed to put out the fire, and took Cameo Adawn Crispi to a local hospital, looking to make sure that she was OK. After being told that, elevated blood-alcohol content aside, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the 32-year-old, the officers arrested her.

Despite the fact that she was released on bail not too long after being arrested, 32-year-old Cameo Adawn Crispi must still answer for her actions. She is expected to make an appearance in court this coming October 7, when she will be trialled for arson, burglary, harassment, and intoxication.

While at the hospital, the woman admitted to purposely trying to start a fire by putting the bacon over the lit burner. As explained in the case report, “The doctor asked her about the fire, and she stated she was attempting to start a fire in the house to get back at her ex-boyfriend.” Hence, she will likely spend some time in jail.
