A woman's dental implant somehow got lodged in her sinus area, as it slid up her cranium. The X-ray above shows the implant next to her nose.

According to the Huffington Post, the case has been reported by the New England Journal of Medicine. The unidentified patient lost a tooth and had it replaced with an implant.

She is 57 years old, and she lived with the 0.79 inch (2 cm) metal screw in her sinus cavity for two years. She had surgery to implant the screw in 2011, and dentists never knew something was wrong.

Soon after putting in the implant in her upper jaw, her gums healed over it and she experienced no pain.

However, she started getting headaches and an X-ray revealed the metal object, which had to be removed in surgery.
