A woman in Cheshire has been told that she has to erase special markings on her husband's gravestone.

He was a mathematician and his favorite game was Sudoku. Therefore, a still of the game and an equation have been engraved on his headstone.

Angela Robinson, who buried her husband in Jobsworth, does not see the harm in the markings and believes that they are not detrimental for the image of the burial ground.

"He was a bit of a fanatic but this is personal to him. How can they possibly say what we have put on there is lowering standards?” she asks.

The equation was part of her husband's PhD thesis in mathematics. She believes that it is a tribute to his intellect, the Mirror reports.

She has been told that the stone has to be removed, since she did not submit a draft of the design before installing it.
