After being used to reading mostly about complaints or cyber bulling or maybe just people bragging on social media sites, to hear that someone actually managed to find a way to use Facebook and change her life is actually quite exhilarating.

Lynne Scrives challenged herself to make her Facebook status updates a way of showing her gratitude for an entire year. The Australian news reporter actually says that her Facebook challenge saved her ways helping her turn around from a life of pointless relations and large quantities of alcohol to a healthy, empowering one.

After she began writing her posts, she just started a more uncommon form of positive therapy, she moved to a new city, committed to a sobriety plan, started a relationship and just got used to appreciating the things she had.

Studies based on motivation and positive attitude always focused on the beneficial effects of expressing gratitude, and Lynne worked towards that empowering attitude in a more unique way, with the help of Facebook.

The problem is that most people have a hard time expressing their gratitude, either with friends or family. Once this capacity to say thank you is developed, things tend to take a more positive turn, and not only for the mind but for the body as well, as scientists linked gratitude to a stronger immune system, lower blood pressure and higher levels of energy.
