14 DAY TRIAL // A woman from Michigan has had her life changed over her Halloween costume. Alicia Ann Lynch dressed up as a victim of the Boston Marathon bombing.
She wore fake blood and painted bruises on, and she was dressed in running gear. The reaction from the Internet community was a very aggressive one. Lynch was bullied online and her family and best friend were harassed.
“She didn’t know what I was doing. My family didn’t know what I was doing. I don’t live with them. And they’re all getting dragged into this for something I did,” she says in a letter to BuzzFeed.
She was fired from her job but did not wish to elaborate on what that was. She has apologized repeatedly and deleted all her social media accounts.
She is currently trying to get another job, and she hopes that Google searches will not affect her chances.
