The movement started by former Microsoftie Karen X. Cheng, now known as #GiveIt100 or the 100-day challenge, has made another woman a viral star. Perhaps more important, it has allowed her to find love in herself again by discovering the path to a healthier life.

LaKeisha Shurn from California is 32 years old and, as she says herself in the opening of her 100-day summary video, she’s struggled with her weight all her life. At her heaviest, she was 348 pounds (157.8 Kg).

At the time she decided to give the challenge a go, LaKeisha was less heavy but struggling. “I have low self-esteem. I am going through depression, and I want to change all of that,” she says.

“I have a lot of other friends that are moving on in life and doing all these great things and I'm happy for them but I still feel that I'm kind of stuck. I always just thought of myself as someone who was unattractive and was not fit to be married or have kids,” she continues.

This is why she decided to do the challenge and really turn her life around. She’s sharing her story because she wants other people to know that you don’t have to have a personal trainer, or a lot of money or fancy workout gear and what-else to get in shape: all it takes is willpower.

“I want you to see how one person really changes everything about their life. Next hundred days I will be on the journey of losing weight and finding myself,” she explains in the video, which is a collage of footage of her working out at her local gym.

In the end, after 100 days, LaKeisha dropped 18 pounds (8.1 kg) in 100 days and 2 dress sizes. Even better than the weight loss is that she’s found love in herself once more.
