A woman from North West England discovered a new talent after experiencing a brush with death. 49-year-old Pip Taylor fell down the stairs at Chester Racecourse and suffered bruising on her brain, but when she recovered from the accident she realized she had gained the ability to draw.

It seems that the terrible accident has awoken the woman's surprising artistic flair.

Taylor dreamed of being an artist ever since she was in school, but her early attempts at art were not very successful, so she gave up on her dream. Even her teachers advised her against an artistic career saying that she didn't have the ability.

But after hitting her head, the woman, from Birkenhead, Merseyside, was surprised to discover that she had acquired the ability to draw. So now, more than 30 year later, she finally has the opportunity to fulfill her dream of creating beautiful works of art.

She now has the ability to draw perfect images of people and animals and makes up to four pieces a day. After seeing her work, many strangers have commissioned pieces of art from her.

“It is just extraordinary. I have always loved drawing but I was never any good. I used to draw cartoons and the only thing I could really manage was Snoopy. I wanted to take art as an O-level, but my teacher advised me not to,” Taylor said, according to Daily Mail.

Taylor suffered a serious concussion after falling down a flight of steps while she was visiting the racecourse in Chester in May 2012. Doctors told her the recovery would take six months, so she decided to start drawing again as a means to avoid boredom.

“I started doodling but something felt different. It was more natural and I was amazed at the images I could draw. It is a talent I developed over night,” she said.

The talented woman is now determined to draw every day, because she says she is worried that if she doesn’t do it, her talent could disappear as quickly as she discovered it. She wants to take advantage of the newly acquired skill and simply live her dream.

However, it seems that she is not able to create her own images, but she can copy objects, people, and photographs perfectly. When she draws portraits, her favorite part are the eyes.

“I began to realise I had a real skill in being able to copy things accurately,” Taylor added.
