We all know that being on the phone while driving can be very dangerous, but a recent car accident proved that sometimes it can be deadly. A woman has died in North Carolina after crashing her car head-on into a truck seconds after posting a status update on Facebook.

Courtney Ann Sanford, of High Point, crossed a busy road on Thursday morning just after making the post, which said “The happy song makes me HAPPY,” referring to Pharrell’s pop hit. Unfortunately, her car hit a recycling truck and the crash was fatal for her.

After searching her phone, investigators have discovered that she had posted pictures and updates online seconds before the deadly collision. According to the Daily Mirror, the post about the “Happy” song was made at 8.33 a.m., while the first 911 call received about the crash was just one minute later.

“In a matter of seconds, a life was over just so she could notify some friends that she was happy,” Lieutenant Chris Weisner of High Point Police Department said.

After the impact, Sanford’s car careened off the road into a ditch near some trees. The recycling truck hit a tree and ended only feet away, also in the grass. The woman’s car caught on fire after running off the road.
