14 DAY TRIAL // Not too long ago, a woman in China somehow managed to crash a brand new Porsche just seconds after buying it and leaving the showroom behind its wheel.
Media reports say the incident occurred in the city of Shenyang. As noticeable in the photo accompanying this article, the vehicle sustained considerable damage as a result of the crash.
It is understood that the woman got confused when approaching a set of traffic lights. Instead of hitting the brakes, she accelerated. Hence, the car shot forward and only stopped when hitting the vehicles stationed at the red light.
“She seemed to be trying to change lanes when without warning she shot forwards,” a witness told the press in an interview, as cited by Mirror. “We were still waving her goodbye when she shot forward and there was a tremendous bang,” added Porsche salesman Qiang Chiu.
Luckily, nobody was injured in this accident. Still, one can only assume the woman, identified as Ping Ch'ang, is kicking herself right about now, and will continue to do so for quite a while.
By the looks of it, the car suffered about £150,000 (over €188,000 / $243,000) worth of damage. Since Ping Ch'ang was the one who caused the accident, she must not only repair the Porsche, but also pay the other drivers compensation.
