Earlier this week, a young lady in Florida, US, was promptly arrested when she made the mistake of calling 911 to complain about having been ripped off by her drug dealer.

When she contacted the dealer, the Fort Lauderdale woman only had $5 (€4.4) left and wanted to spend them on some marijuana. The trouble is things didn't work out quite as she had expected.

Long story short, the drug dealer took her money but didn't give her any weed in exchange, The Smoker's Club reports. Naturally, the would-be marijuana buyer got terribly upset.

When scammed, don't always call the police

It might be that a law enforcement officer's working agenda is all about serving and protecting, but as it turns out, calling the police and asking them for help when scammed is not always a good idea.

And yet, this is precisely what the Fort Lauderdale woman did. She picked up a phone, dialed 911, and when an operator took her call, she went on a rant about how her drug dealer had ripped her off and taken her money without giving her any drugs.

Always the defenders of the city, local police officers in Fort Lauderdale were quick to rush by the woman's side. They checked her pockets, found her to be in possession of a psychosis-inducing drug dubbed flakka and took her into custody.

Not quite the outcome the woman was probably expecting, but at least she cannot complain about having been ignored by authorities. Au contraire, her cry for help got way more attention than she might have liked.

The woman is now behind bars, reports say

Having been arrested, the woman, identified as 19-year-old Daneshia Heller, was incarcerated. She stands accused of drug possession and misusing the 911 emergency line.

By the looks of it, this past Tuesday's affair was not the woman's first run-in with the law. Some time ago, she was arrested for battery and was actually on parole when she tried to buy drugs and was scammed by her dealer.
