Wolfenstein: The New Order was just launched yesterday and quite a lot of PC owners are already encountering issues with the game, ranging from problems in the installation process to low framerate on AMD graphics cards or straight up crashes on Windows 8 or 8.1 systems. Fortunately, a few workarounds have surfaced.

Wolfenstein: The New Order reimagines the whole first-person shooter series and developer MachineGames, together with publisher Bethesda, has tried to deliver a high-quality experience across all of the game's many platforms, namely PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

While the title has enjoyed great reception from critics, it's also been the victim of quite a few different problems on the PC platform, as many users have reported issues with it, from crashes to low framerate or refusal to start in some conditions.

Thankfully, a series of workarounds has emerged online, via GamePur, for some of the most common errors.

First up, don't forget to ensure that your PC is running the latest drivers for your graphics card. This means that you should have the newest Nvidia GeForce or AMD Catalyst beta drivers installed in order to ensure maximum compatibility.

For those who have a physical edition of the game and encounter problems when installing it due to Steam insisting to download the day-one patch, the recommendation is to go offline and proceed to install the game from the four discs. After the process is completed, go online and let Steam download the day-one update for Wolfenstein: The New Order.

For PC users with AMD graphics cards who are encountering low framerates, crashes, freezes, or refusal to load progress, the recommendation is to completely uninstall the current Catalyst driver. Afterwards, restart the PC and download and install the latest Catalyst 14.4 version. Installing the day-one update and turning off the Shadow Resolution should also improve the framerate.

Those who experience a white screen when starting the game should update their drivers or turn off the V-Sync option and the SLI or Crossfire mode.

Windows 8 and 8.1 users who are unable to start the game should look for its executable file in the Steam folder, right click it and select properties, and then under the compatibility tab select to run the program in compatibility for Windows 7. You can also check the "Run this program as an Administrator" option in order to ensure no other issues.

Nvidia GeForce users who have problems with textures should go to the Nvidia Control Panel in order to turn off triple buffering and change the V-Sync setting to "Use the 3D Application settings."
