Wolfenstein: The New Order, the upcoming first-person shooter from MachineGames and Bethesda, has a set of massive day-one updates on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, according to owners of early copies of the game, weighing in at 5GB on PS4 and 7.3GB on Xbox One.

Bethesda and MachineGames have been working on Wolfenstein: The New Order for quite some time and they have also showcased the game's visual quality through plenty of screenshots and gameplay videos.

The two companies even announced a few weeks ago that the title needed quite a bit of space across all platforms so that the experience reaches the gold standard of 1080p full HD resolution and 60fps framerate.

Now, thanks to two Twitter users who managed to get their hands on early copies of the game, it seems that the new Wolfenstein will require a day-one update on the PS4 and Xbox One.

More specifically, the patch for The New Order on the PS4 occupies around 5GB, while on the Xbox One it's an even bigger 7.3GB.

These updates haven't been confirmed just yet by Bethesda or MachineGames, so it's unclear just what's included in them or why they're so big.

Wolfenstein: The New Order launches worldwide on May 20 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
