Sony understood how to get into the
Valentine's Day mood by releasing a free DLC pack for LittleBigPlanet featuring a SackBoy symbolizing love.
Nintendo doesn't seem to go for such subtleties as it has released two
WiiWare titles in North America featuring a high school taken over by dark creatures and a game that puts you in the war boots of a mercenary. The titles are already available for download on the digital download service offered by Nintendo for Wii owners and can be purchased by using Wii Points, which can be bought on the Wii Shop Channel or from brick and mortar retailers.
On WiiWare, Nintendo is only offering one game, called LIT, created by WayForward Technologies. The game only supports one player and costs 800 Wii Points. It will allow the player to attend a high school taken over by a host of dark creatures. Jake, who takes classes there, has to find his girlfriend, Rachel, and get out of the building. The game is a cross between a puzzle, where the player arranges lights in order to guide Jake around, and a horror game, where the protagonist must face the dark creatures. There are 30 levels that players need to navigate, five end bosses that must be defeated, a lot of unlockable content and timed challenges under the Dark Mode.
On the Virtual Console, which is dedicated to getting older games on the Nintendo Wii, Nintendo is releasing Wolf of the Battlefield: MERCS, a single player game that costs 800 Wii Points, initially released for the
SEGA Genesis gaming console. The title is based on an arcade machine and allows you to play as the MERC but also as five other characters as you shoot your way through a variety of levels. The game was noted for its challenging boss fights.
