World of Warcraft is the most popular game on Earth, as it boasts over 11,5 million subscribers every month. All of these users can choose one of two factions, either play for the Alliance, which stands for purity and righteousness, or for the Horde, which stands for destruction and revenge.

But while a lot of experienced players have characters in both of these factions, the team at Blizzard, which is always hard at work experimenting with new gameplay changes to the popular title, has just announced that a service will be launched soon enough, which will allow players to switch sides and have their character transported from one faction to the other as close to its specifications as possible.

Here's what the company revealed on the official website of the title: “There's still much work to do and many details to iron out, but the basic idea is that players will be able to use the service to transform an existing character into a roughly equivalent character of the opposing faction on the same realm. Players who ended up creating and leveling up characters on the opposite factions from their friends have been asking for this type of functionality for some time, and we're pleased to be getting closer to being able to deliver it.”

While this may seem like great news, especially for players who don't have the time or lack the skills to have two characters playing for both factions, no further details about it have been revealed, meaning that it might end up being a priced service, much like the server change feature is.

Are you excited about the possibility to switch sides and see just how life is in the other faction? Or do you think that this is something that will hurt the game overall, making a lot of people start switching every day? Leave us a comment with your thoughts on Blizzard's plans.
