PC gaming has entered these recent few years in a cone of shadow largely due to the fact that piracy and the troubles encountered with the different configurations have made developers adopt consoles as their main platforms.

But this doesn't mean that games don't sell on the PC, as we have just received the latest sales and download charts from the top three sources, the NPD Group, Steam, and Direct2Drive. What do all of these have in common? Well, the record breaking expansion to World of Warcraft, Wrath of the Lich King, is still going strong in terms of sales from regular brick and mortar stores, while Valve's Steam online digital content distribution network shows that zombie shooter Left 4 Dead still has a lot of fans out there, even though it was launched a few months ago.

Steam and Direct2Drive also show that the new titles Dawn of War II and FEAR 2 have surpassed games such as Fallout 3 or Call of Duty: World At War, which, surprisingly, are still going strong. Without further ado, here are the sales charts for all of you to dissect, as found on Kotaku:

1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King 2. The Sims 2 Double Deluxe 3. Spore 4. World Of Warcraft Battle Chest 5. Fallout 3 6. World Of Warcraft 7. Left 4 Dead 8. Call Of Duty: World At War 9. The Sims 2 Apartment Life 10. The Sims 2 Deluxe

Steam Sales Charts as of February 17

All in all, PC gamers are still buying a lot of titles these days, despite concern from some analysts who believed that the recession would make them pirate a lot more games. Hopefully, everything will go for the better and we will all see a healthy PC game market in the future.
