WoW.com, the most popular World of Warcraft fan site, claims to have multiple independent sources confirming the release of Patch 3.2 occurring August 4 in the US. Besides the changes listed in the latest PTR patch notes, the release will also bring “some rather significant extended maintenance,” the source claims. The release, if proven accurate, will occur on both Mac OS X and Windows platforms simultaneously.

While there are currently no patch notes available, WoW.com believes they will be made available momentarily. The site speculates that fans of Blizzard’s MMORPG can check out the PTR (Public Test Realm) patch notes for indication of what WoW Patch 3.2 will bring. “There are no patch notes available yet; however, they will no doubt be made available within the next few hours. But really, the patch notes are not going to deviate a terrible amount from the PTR patch notes, so this evening is a good time to familiarize yourself with everything,” the post reads.

Softpedia earlier informed Mac users and fans of World of Warcraft that the World of Warcraft PTR Updater provided new features and changes that were applied to the test environment (realm) in order to more effectively test new features, making their way into the official WoW game. The test realm patch notes only apply to features that exist on the public test realms, but they usually match official updates change by change.

As for those who are not very familiar with the importance of Patch 3.2, WoW.com explains that the update is the next major content patch for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King. According to the popular fan site, “A new 5 man dungeon and a new 10/25 man raid will be introduced at the Argent Tournament grounds, and a new battleground called The Isle of Conquest will be released. Leveling will become easier with a new mount system in place, and people around Azeroth will be able to enjoy the host of new changes a large content patch brings.”

Update #1: it seems that the patch is now confirmed, although WoW players still have to wait for official confirmation from Blizzard and the actual release

Update #2: the WoW 3.2 Patch (Call of the Crusade) is now available for download.
